This PALS course is built on the foundation of the lifesaving skills and high-quality CPR taught in the Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course. This course gives you the knowledge and skills you must possess to recognize infants and children who are at risk for pediatric emergencies such as: cardiopulmonary arrest, shock and respiratory failure. Once you have completed the PALS pre-course self-assessment with a minimum score of 70% or higher, print the certificate and bring it with you to present to your instructor on the day of the course. This Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course is for healthcare providers such as: Physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and others in the healthcare field who care for children and infants in a variety of settings. This training course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. Your American Heart Association certification card will be given to you the same day after successfully completing the training and is valid for 2 years.
